What is actually the correct name for litter pickers?

We regularly get asked what the correct name is for that device used to pick up paper, cans, cigarette butts, plastic, etc. from the ground.

We have called it a "litter picker". Why exactly this name, I wouldn't dare to tell you. Simply, I think, because it's the name that best describes the product.

What's quite fun is that there are many other names for the litter picker. Some names that come to mind are litter grabber, grabber, pick-up stick, pincher, paper picker and picker. We've even come across several other names. In the end, the grabber with so many names is meant for just one thing, and that is (often) cleaning up the mess that citizens have left lying around, whether by accident or on purpose.
